Rendering a wall invisible doesn't stop people from bumping into it. Neither does a faulty memory change the details of an event.

Is perspective that limiting?

[Apollo wasn't a finite being, to start with. He can't unlearn what he knows to be truth, even if they're seemingly contradictory.]
