[When her touch startles him, she inhales her own surprise, worry that somehow there's a hole in her glove and her skin caught his, or worse, that he's fearful of her touch, even with gloves. When it's clearly not the former, her mind picks at the latter thought, her jaw tightening subconsciously as she steels herself for something more.

When that more doesn't come, she exhales a half-breath she didn't know she's holding, her eyes lingering on how he drinks his liquor. She's found that a person's relationship and choices therein with alcohol spoke volumes about their personality and the current situation of their life.

The past has a way of sneakin' back up when you least expect it. [She counters softly, speaking directly from experience. Even here, in this place, which churned her mind down a different path, one she'll touch on in a moment. She's not about to take away from the weight of their current conversation, one that's hitting so deep in the home of her mind and heart that after she sips the liquid and approves, she finishes the rest of it in one, healthy swallow. There's no coughing, only a resetting of her jaw for several moments.]

Feelin' someone in your head, diggin' through your deepest, most personal thoughts, memories you've been entrusted to protect, and bein' able to change them, to fabricate a false world that feels so real that you're utterly malleable... [She shudders, glancing down to her now empty glass as she remembers how it felt to have the Red Skull inside her head. It's something she'll never forget, no matter how far in the past she buries it. She shakes her head and hopes that shared dreaming doesn't feel like that.

Moving on to that thought from earlier because it's marginally less depressing.

Have you met anyone from your universe, or one that might be parallel to it yet?
