It's incredibly useful - she needs no weapons for it (though she has a small pair of metal knuckles tucked away in one of her many pockets) and her aether reserves allow her to channel enough chakra into her punches that the shockwaves can be felt a few hundred yards away. Her small size is actually a rather big advantage in most cases, allowing her increased speed and agility when facing larger opponents. It is also what helps her to be a skilled ninja.

My apologies. A Carbuncle is of no relation to any animal - it is an aetherial construct. Most of its body is my own magic given form, with some ambient aether from its gemstone to shape it.
