Emmy feels differently, however, if the way it takes off running at top speed is any indication. Era can barely keep up, especially with her body still recovering from the disease that nearly killed her. It doesn't matter to her Carbuncle if she does or doesn't keep pace with it - they've a mental link and will never truly lose each other - because right now all it can smell is its favourite person beyond its mistress. By the time Era catches up the summon has already begun snuffling around at Aymeric's feet, yipping excitedly and rubbing itself all over him and his ugly pants, purring obnoxiously loud.
