He smirked when the teen's arm raised to hit him again, like that was what he wanted, intentionally goading him on to do it. Then the younger paused and poor bastard behind the counter - who was tired of volunteer fights by now, Ed was sure - cut in to interrupt. Ed sighed, knocking back the rest of his drink once he was released.
"You going to cancel your order so we can take this fight outside or sit back down?" He wasn't interested in fighting, and there was clearly no bite to the question as if he didn't have the will to fight even if the younger wanted to. The only thing he was interested in was being mad at his idiot best friend for coming here in the first place. Wallowing in self-pity was so unlike him unless it was hopeless and right now everything felt hopeless.
