Years of practice did that to a guy, but it was less patience and more a mix of knowing how all this worked so being unable to find any surprise in it and actual shock that it was happening to him from this angle, for a change. Luckily, the kid didn't seem to piece together that the older Ed wasn't here by accident or at the very least, he wasn't bringing it up. That was an awkward conversation he definitely didn't want to have.

Of course, he glossed over the homunculi, he wouldn't want to talk about that. "From my understanding homunculi from my world and your world are so different it probably didn't seem worth getting into detail about." It had absolutely nothing to do with wanting to hide that reality from the teenager, of course not, what do you mean he made a monster with the face of their mother? Just kick that under the rug where it belongs, to hopefully never bring up later.

He noticed the way that the teen glanced around, and although this was the safest place on the island right now in public there was another option. It would require leaving the lounge unattended though, which Ed was hesitant to do.
