Billy has never had good control of his temper if he's honest. He's quick to yell and lash out and be a downright asshole when he's pushed too far - and he's getting pushed pretty far now. Whether it's because John is just that unpleasant or because old school bitterness is getting the best of him, who knows. With everything that went on with the portals, he's feeling more volatile than ever too, unsteady in a way that's leaving him feeling twisted and uncertain of what he's really capable of.

But it all sort of dies down when he gets a good look at the guy -- at the poorly mended bag and the way he looks... rough. He should let him go and be someone else's problem. Then again, maybe his own twin wouldn't have ended up in juvie if someone had given a damn to look past the bad attitude and quick temper, so maybe it's true for this guy too. Or maybe Billy is just trying to do right by the people who raised him, who blindly helped people without hesitation every time Billy brought home another disaster. Maybe it's just because Billy apparently hates himself that much that he's going to walk right into a frustrating situation. Whatever the reasons-- he stifles a groan. So much for staying out of stuff that doesn't concern him...

"Oh, sorry I didn't realize the guy who's called me a pussy, cunt, and loser is keen on keeping a certain level of maturity. Look-- we got off on the wrong foot."

Mostly because this guy's an asshole, but hey. He can bite that back. He moves to follow, keeping his distance because if John takes a swing, he wants to be able to see it coming. "Let me show you around a little-- I can even get you a better meal than what's at the food court. Or maybe get you a drink at the new lounge. I mean, looks like you could use one, and now I could too."
